The driver of the second vehicle, a 19-year-old man, later died in hospital.
In an earlier report, the RCMP said that only the 64-year-old man had been killed.
A passenger in the second car also got to the hospital with severe injuries. There was no update on the person’s situation Monday.
A police traffic judge was working at the scene. The RCMP said it has also been working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as part of its probe.
