A 570-million-year-old fossil was found in St. can we find more?

According to Duncan McIlroy, professor of earth sciences at Memorial University, the rocks bordering Lake Quidi Vidi in St.John, he said.

The armor stones are about 570 million years old and there are only a dozen places on the planet where fossils can be seen in rocks of this age. 

McIlroy discovered the fossils in Lake Quidi Vidi two weeks ago, and the Johnson Geographic Center is running a contest, hoping people will walk around the lake in search of more fossils before it snows.
