The fire is now under control after a hot day’s action around the town of Conception Bay South.
Earlier Sunday, an out-of-control forest fire fumed near the northern Avalon community. Water bombers joined the CBS Fire Department members as they battled the fire and the hot summer sun.
The place was dry when the flare-up, with the Department of Forestry providing intense forest fire risk for the Avalon and parts of central. According to the CBSFD. Just before 5:00 P.M., it was decided that the fire had reduced enough to be considered under control.
The scene has now been shifted to the Department of Forestry and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. They request people to give the area a wide berth as the water bombers persist in tackling hot spots.
